We’re continuing our search for a new Junior Designer this week, so of course we have an updated graphic designer popularity graph to share! If you’ll remember from last week – we asked our applicants to tell us about their favorite designer. We find this is a good way to determine who actually reads instructions. It also gives us feel for an applicant’s aesthetic. There’s no right or wrong answer to the question of course… well, except for not answering it. And surprise, surprise – over 50% of our applicants this time around failed to do so.
Not that we’re complaining… it certainly makes our job easier when you can toss half the applicants straight into the reject pile.
So last week Bryan put together an awesome pie chart that ranked the top 10 designers by percent of total votes. This week it was Ian’s turn to make a graph and unfortunately he’s quite a bit lazier than Bryan, so here’s a much simpler one. Ten pixels = 1%. We decided to drop anyone who had less than 4%, so say goodbye to Paul Rand, Olly Moss, Jan Tschichold, Paula Scher and Shepard Fairey. We’ll miss (some of) you!

We’re still accepting applications and will probably continue to do so for at least a week, so if you’re thinking about applying now’s the time! Check out our posting and make sure to follow the directions! Seriously. We will ignore you.
In non-job related news, Tomas was lucky enough to swing an invite to the opening of Mick Rock’s exhibition at the W Washington earlier in the week. For the uninitiated, Rock is famous for his photography work with various celebrities including David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Snoop, Lada Gaga and all sorts of other people you probably know.
Tomas ended up spending the evening rubbing shoulders with various fancy-pants Washingtonians and enjoying music from Fitz and the Tantrums and Thievery Corporation after the VIP reception, both of whom we love. Damn him, he gets all the fun “networking events” (if this one even qualifies). A few shots of Rock’s work are below – the rest of us sure wish we were there!

Hello,
Hope you guys are still on the look-out for a ‘Junior Graphic Designer’, will send you my info immediately!
Thanks
p.s. Had breakfast at ‘Ted’s Bulletin’ today and you guys did a bang-up job with branding. French toast, scrambled eggs, coffee and The Three Stooges. Can’t beat that combo:)
I’m in the process of updating my website, and then I’d like to apply for your Junior Designer position. I hope I make it in time! This graphic is so interesting! And it makes me feel very unoriginal.
